LEAH ZIMMERMAN

Leah H. Zimmerman, 84, of Rutledge, Missouri, passed away at her home on Thursday, January 30, 2020, two months after being diagnosed with a brain tumor.

She was born on January 7, 1936, in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Henry W. and Leah Horning Martin.

On November 23, 1957, Leah married Levi N. Zimmerman and they lived in Lebanon County, Pennsylvania for fifteen years before relocating to Rutledge, Missouri, where they farmed for twenty-one years.

In 1994 they moved to Paris, Missouri, and lived there until 2011, when they returned to a house on the farm to be close to their family.

Leah was a loving Mother and Grandmother. She had a special love for children and will be remembered by many as a friend who had an open door and a helping hand.

Leah was a member of the Millport Mennonite Church south of Rutledge, Missouri.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Mary (Craig) Honigmann of Myerstown, PA, Lucy (Mark) Eby of New Holland, PA, Philip Zimmerman of Ephrata, PA, Joseph (Brenda) Zimmerman of Manheim, PA, David (Ella Mae) Zimmerman of Reinholds, PA, Ada Zimmerman of Rutledge, MO, Abraham (Martha) Zimmerman of Rutledge, MO, and Martha (Lavon) High of Cantril, IA; forty-four grandchildren; fifty-three great grandchildren; two brothers, Charles (Laura) Martin of Ephrata, PA, Alvin (Eva) Martin of Rutledge, MO; a sister, Esther (David) High of Denver, PA; a brother-in-law, Clarence Eberly of Reinholds, PA; three sisters-in-law, Anna Mary Martin of East Earl, PA, Mildred Martin of Pine Grove, PA, and Verna Martin of Edina, MO; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

Leah was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Levi; seven brothers, Howard, Moses, Henry, John, Ira, Paul and Mark Martin; two sisters, Anna Martin and Elsie Eberly; and two grandchildren, Karla and Anthony Zimmerman.

Funeral Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 5, 2020, at the Millport Mennonite Church, south of Rutledge, Missouri.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Hillcrest Mennonite Community Center, south of Memphis, Missouri.

Burial will be in the Millport Mennonite Cemetery, south of Rutledge, Missouri.

Leah’s family request your presence and prayers, no flowers please.

The Doss Funeral Home, of Edina, Missouri, is in charge of arrangements.
