Anna Theresa Harris, age 89, of Edina, Missouri, passed away Saturday, June 22, 2019, in the LaBelle Manor. She was born November 2, 1929, at Pleussen, Germany, the daughter of Adam and Teresa Jehl Schmid.
She was united in marriage to John Benjamin Harris on December 27, 1951, at Weiden, Germany and he preceded her in death on October 17, 2001. Anna was also preceded in death by her parents; a half-brother, Ludwig Schmid; a nephew, Karl Schmid; and a step-grandchild, Daren Klosterman.
Surviving are one nephew, Ludwig Schmid and wife, Erika of Pleussen Germany; nieces, Emmi Schneider, Marion Marth and husband, Alexander, and Michaela Mickisch, all of Germany; a great-nephew, Sebastian Marth of Germany; a step-daughter, Virginia Klosterman of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; two step-grandchildren; four step-great grandchildren; along with many cousins.
Anna received her education in Waldsassen, Germany. Anna met her husband John while working as a housekeeper and nanny in Germany while he was in the service. After John was discharged from the service they moved to Hurdland, Missouri, where they owned and operated a station and garage. In 1991 they moved to Edina, Missouri. Anna enjoyed walking and visiting with friends at the Knox County Nutrition Site, the Clothes Closet and The Edina Sentinel.
Reverend Graig Connell officiated for the services Wednesday, June 26, 2019, in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri. Burial was in the Locust Hill Cemetery.
