Clark County Sheriff’s Office Executes Search, Five Arrested on Drug Charges

The Clark County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of Jim L. McCarty age 68 of Kahoka, Missouri, Karla J. McCarty age 60 of Kahoka, Missouri, Alicia J. Sturm age 31 of Kahoka, Missouri , Cathy Rae Simmons age 41 of Alexandria, Missouri, and Joseph Richard Whitehead age 23 of Kahoka, Missouri.

On the afternoon of June 11, 2019 the Clark County Sheriff’s Office assisted by the North Missouri Drug Task Force and the Missouri State Highway Patrol executed a search warrant at the Jim McCarty residence located at 26614 County Road 307 Kahoka, Missouri.  This search warrant followed an investigation by the Clark County Sheriff's Office. The search resulted in the seizure of controlled substances, drug paraphernalia, stolen property, and a firearm.

Jim L. McCarty was arrested and later charged with three class D felonies for possession of a controlled substance (Methamphetamine),  possession of a controlled substance (Illegal Prescription drugs), and  unlawful possession of a firearm.  Jim McCarty was also charged with a class D misdemeanor for unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.  Jim McCarty was transported to the Clark County Detention Center where he is currently being held on a $50,000.00 cash only bond.

Karla J. McCarty  was arrested and later charged with three class D felonies for possession of a controlled substance (Methamphetamine),  possession of a controlled substance (Illegal Prescription drugs), and unlawful  possession of a firearm.  Karla McCarty was also charged with a class D misdemeanor for unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.  Karla McCarty was transported to the Clark County Detention Center where she is currently being held on a $50,000.00 cash only bond.

Alicia J. Sturm was arrested and later charged with three class D felonies for possession of a controlled substance (Methamphetamine),  possession of a controlled substance (Illegal Prescription drugs), and Endangering the welfare of a child involving drugs 1st degree. Alicia Sturm was transported to the Clark County Detention Center where she is currently being held on a $35,000.00 cash only bond.

Cathy Rae Simmons was arrested and later charged with two class D felonies for possession of a controlled substance (Methamphetamine), and Endangering the welfare of a child involving drugs 1st degree.  Cathy Simmons was transported to the Clark County Detention Center where she is currently being held on a $35,000.00 cash only bond.

Joseph Richard Whitehead was arrested and later charged with one class D felony for possession of a controlled substance (Methamphetamine). Joseph Whitehead was transported to the Clark County Detention Center where he is currently being held on a $35,000.00 cash only bond.

All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
