State Rep. Greg Sharpe Recognized as Freshman Legislator of the Year for His Advocacy for Agriculture
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – In only his first term in office, State Rep. Greg Sharpe has earned the praise of House leadership for the work he has done to support and promote agriculture in Missouri. This week House Speaker Elijah Haahr presented Sharpe with a Freshman Legislator of the Year Award for the work he has done as an advocate for farmers and the farming industry.
In presenting him with the award, Speaker Haahr noted that Sharpe has earned the respect of his colleagues for the insight he is able to share when discussing the importance of Missouri agriculture. Sharpe has more 30 years of experience in the agriculture industry. He has used his experience to advocate for agriculture in his work on the House Budget Committee and the House Agriculture Policy Committee.
“I want to thank Speaker Haahr for this recognition. I am humbled to receive such an incredible honor for the work I have done on behalf of my district, the agriculture industry, and the many farm families all across Missouri,” said Sharpe, R-Ewing.
Sharpe serves as the state representative for the 4th House District, which represents Lewis, Clark, Knox, Scotland, Schuyler, and part of Adair counties. He was elected to his first two-year term in the Missouri House of Representatives in November 2018.
