Obituary for Helen Joyce Osborne

Helen Joyce Osborne, 82, of Morris, passed away February 16, 2019 at her home in Morris. She was born on September 26, 1936 near Malvern, Iowa.

Helen was the 7th child of Orlo Sidney Lincoln and Flossie Bonnie (Neal) Lincoln. She was born on September 26, 1936 on a farm near Malvern, Iowa. Her father was a Christian Church Minister serving various churches in the Midwest so Helen attended many schools and then graduated from high school in Novelty, Missouri in 1954. Her desire was to enter into some type of Christian service so she enrolled in Lincoln Bible Institute in 1955. While attending LBI, she met Larry Osborne and they were subsequently engaged and were married in Novelty, MO on December 24, 1957. She accompanied her Pastor husband in various ministerial functions such as leading music, playing piano, teaching Sunday school, leading Bible studies and youth groups all while raising 4 children. She was a teacher and leader of Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS) at Tinley Park Christian Church for 4 years. Besides her family, Helen loved the mountains of Colorado, picnics with family and many friends, keeping a beautiful home and bird watching. She took special delight in her Grandchildren and they adored her for it!
Preceding her in death are her parents, Orlo and Flossie Lincoln, Sisters Florence (Harold) Olmstead, Opal (Don) Gee, Ruth (Bob) Andrews, Doris Dancy, Lois (Paul) Benjamin and brothers Roy and Jim Lincoln.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years Larry Osborne of Morris, IL, Children Dana Foran of Morris, IL, Bonnie (Doug) Barilow of New Lenox, IL, Jonathan of Greenville, SC and Laura (Robert) House of Tahlequah, OK
Grandchildren Hayley (David) Mudek, Aubrey Foran, Lance (Katie) Barilow, Kelley (Brian) Wright, Jaynann (Mark) Wilson, Rachel (Daniel) Butler and Adam (Jamie) Ehrhardt. She is also survived by 11 Great Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Helen will be on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 from 4 pm-8 pm at the U.C. Davis-Callahan Funeral Home located 301 W. Washington St in Morris. A celebration of Helen’s life will be held on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at 11:00 am at First Christian Church in Morris.
Graveside service will be on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Montrose Cemetery Greenville, IL.
