Drugs and Guns Found In Clark County Traffic Stop

The Clark County Sheriff's Office reports the arrest of David Wayne Yates age 32 of Revere, Clark County, Missouri. Yates was arrested for: possession of a controlled substance except 35 grams of marijuana (Methamphetamine), possession of a controlled substance (marijuana) more than 35 grams, delivery of a controlled substance, and two (2) counts of unlawful use of a firearm.

On March 8, 2018, at approximately 1940 hours, a Deputy with the Clark County Sheriff's Office conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle being operated by David Wayne Yates. While making contact with Yates there was an odor of marijuana emitting from inside the vehicle and Two (2) firearms were located on the dash of the vehicle, a Smith and Wesson 380 Caliber M and P Semi-Automatic pistol with a laser and a Ruger P95 9mm.

A search of the vehicle was conducted by Clark County Deputies and several illegal items were located during the search. Yates was placed under arrest by Clark County Deputies for: possession of a controlled substance except 35 grams of marijuana (Methamphetamine), possession of a controlled substance (marijuana) more than 35 grams, delivery of a controlled substance, and two (2) counts of unlawful use of a firearm. Yates was also in possession of a large amount of currency.

David Wayne Yates was transported to the Clark County Sheriff's Office and booked into the Clark County Detention Center. Yates is currently being held at the Clark County Detention Center on a $50,000.00 cash only bond.

All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
