LOLA MAE COONS

Mrs. Lola Mae Coons, age 97, of the Lewis County Nursing Home in Canton, MO formerly of Williamstown, MO passed away Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 12:25 p.m. in the home.

She was born October 15, 1920 in Santa Rosa, Missouri a daughter of Perry J. and Pearl Shaw Huff.  She married Thomas LeRoy Coons on April 22, 1939 in Burlington, IA.  He passed away December 29, 1983.

Lola was a member of the Providence Baptist Church near Williamstown, MO and the W.M.U. of the church.  Lola also spent many years working in the nursery at the church.  She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and the being outdoors.

Survivors include her two sons, James (Nina) Coons of Kahoka, MO and Jackie (Marilyn) Coons of Canton; four daughters, Wanda Pearl of Canton, Rita Sherwood of Kahoka, MO, Reva (Jeff) Brunk of Revere, MO and Brenda (Mike) Quigley of Canton; 25 grandchildren, 60 great grandchildren and 85 great great  grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Karen, brother J.W. Huff, sisters, Goldie, Dorothy and Lois, two sons-in-law George Pearl and Charles Sherwood and four grandchildren Neva Coons, Jamie Coons, Buffy Anderson and Shane Murphy.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Providence Baptist Church near Williamstown with Pastor Brian Stone officiating.  Burial will be in the Providence Cemetery.  Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 23, 2018 from 4 until 8 p.m. with family greeting friends after 6 p.m. at the Davis Funeral Home in Canton.

The family suggests memorials be made to the Providence Baptist Church.
