Macon Police Department News Releases, 28 Jan 2016:

On 1-15-2016, at approximately 2:45 a.m., a Macon Police Officer made an enforcement stop on North Missouri Street.  The driver of the vehicle, a 21 year old female from Macon, was arrested for driving with no valid operators license.  The passenger in the vehicle a 19 year old female also of Macon, was arrested for minor in possession of alcohol.  Both subjects were taken to the Macon Police Department and processed.  The driver of the vehicle was released pending a Municipal Court date.  The passenger was processed and then transported to the Macon County
Sheriff's Office due to an active warrant out of Adair County for a seat belt violation.

On 1-15-2016, at approximately 9:45 p.m., Macon Police served a warrant on an 18 year old male, in the 800 block of Kohl Street. Lawrence R Bayless IV was transported to the Macon Police Department, processed and released on his own recognizance pending a Municipal Court date.
On 1-15-2016, at approximately 7:30 p.m., a Macon Police Officer made an enforcement contact with a vehicle on East Briggs.  The driver of the vehicle a white 54 year old male, was issued a summons for failure to provide proof of insurance and was released pending a Municipal Court date.  The passenger in the vehicle, a 40 year old female was observed to be under the influence of a drug.  During the investigation, the Macon County Sheriff's K-9 unit assisted.  During the investigation, the female was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and methamphetamine.  The female passenger was arrested, transported to the Macon County Sheriff's Office and placed on a 24-hour hold pending the issuance of a warrant. An officer applied for and obtained warrants for April C. Stephenson for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine).  Bond was set at $10,000.00 cash only.

On 1-16-2016, the Macon Police Department took a report of a theft in the 700 block of Sunset Hill Drive sometime between 1-13-2016 and 1-15-2016.  The case remains under investigation.

On 1-16-2016, the Macon Police Department took a second report of a theft that occurred in the 700 block of Sunset Hill Drive.  The case remains under investigation by the Macon Police Department.

On 1-16-2016, at approximately 10:45 p.m., a Macon Police Officer made an enforcement contact in  the 1700 block of North Missouri Street..  During the contact the smell of alcohol was detected.  As the result of the contact, the driver of the vehicle, a 25 year old male, from Macon, was transported to the Macon Police Department and administered field sobriety tests.  The male was arrested and processed for driving while intoxicated.  The subject was released on summons pending a Municipal Court date.

On 1-16-2016, at approximately 8:20 p.m., Macon Police Officers responded to a well being check in the 1100 block of Hawthorne Drive.  The subject was examined by medical personnel and released. The 50 year old female, was arrested on an active Municipal Court warrant for Driving while Intoxicated with bond of $90.00 cash only.  Barbara
Rufener was transported to the Macon Police Department for processing. She was later transported to the Randolph County Jail to be held in lieu of bond.

On 1-17-2016, at approximately 10:30 a.m., in the 800 block of South Missouri, a Macon Police Officer took a report of property damage to a vehicle.  The case remains under investigation.

On 1-18-2016, at approximately 12:18 p.m., the Macon Police Department assisted the Missouri Children's Division with an investigation of substandard living conditions.  The investigation originated from the Missouri Hotline for abuse and neglected children.

On 1-19-2016, at approximately 8:55 p.m., while on routine patrol, a Macon Police Officer made an enforcement stop on Pearl Street.  The driver of the vehicle, a 16 year old male of Macon, was issued a Municipal Court Summons for careless driving and released pending a Municipal Court date.

On 1-19-2016, at approximately 7:30 p.m., a Macon Police Officer served a 19 year old male, with 3 Municipal Court warrants at the Macon County Sheriff's Office.  The first warrant was for failure to appear on the original charge of operating a motor vehicle without financial responsibility with a bond amount of $62.50 cash only. The second warrant for failure to appear on the original charge of exceeded posted speed limit (16-19 mph over) with a cash only bond of $70.50. The third warrant was for failure to appear from the original charge of failed to register vehicle with a cash bond of $57.50.  Matthew R Rice was transported to the Macon County Jail to be held in lieu of bond.

On 1-21-2016, the Macon Police Department took a report of a theft of a debit card from a Macon resident.  As a result of the investigation, police applied for and obtained a warrant on 1-22-2016, for Dawn R. Dowling, a 50-year old female of Jacksonville, Missouri.  The warrant was issued for felony fraudulent use of a credit device, with bond set at $5000.00 cash or 10% allowed standard conditions.  She was later located and arrested by the Randolph County authorities.

A criminal charge is merely an allegation and the defendant is, of course, presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
