JANICE M. HOWDESHELL

Janice “Jan” Marie Howdeshell,age 66, of Knox City, MO, died Saturday, April 21, 2012, in Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.


She was born December 26, 1945, at St. Charles, MO, the daughter of Benjamin Willis and Helen Frances Matthews Hutton. On May 7, 1966, at Troy, MO, she was united in marriage to Floyd Howdeshell.


Surviving are her husband, Floyd, of Knox City, MO, three children, Mark Allan Howdeshell and his wife, Jo Handinero, of Fairbanks, AK, Tony Lee Howdeshell and wife, Ann-Marie, of Virginia Beach, VA, and Linda Marie Stukenberg and husband, Jason, of Novelty, MO, seven grandchildren and several cousins.


Janice was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Margaret.


Janice received her education in Troy, MO where she graduated from Buchanan High School. She also attended Nursing School in St. Louis, MO before traveling back and forth across the United States as the new wife of a Marine. After settling down in Troy, Janice worked at Lincoln County Memorial Hospital, Farm Bureau, and at Verizon in Wentzville, MO. After moving to Knox City, she was employed at the Knox County Nursing Home for two years. She enjoyed spending as much time as possible with her grandchildren and friends, and going to auctions to look for the next antique treasure she had to have.


Janice’s wishes were to be cremated, there will be no services. Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO is in charge of the arrangements.


Memorials in memory of Janice Marie Howdeshell may be made to the LaBelle Manor Care Nursing Home. Memorials may be left at or mailed to the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1, Edina, MO 63537.
