Kari Dawn Wright, 44, of
Kahoka, MO, died Monday, May 17, 2010 at the Keokuk Area Hospital in Keokuk,
IA.

She was born on October 29, 1965 in
Keokuk, IA the daughter of Gerald E. and Judith Ann Roller Sawyer.

Kari graduated from Clark County R-1 High
School with the Class of 1984. She
attended Northeast Missouri State University in Kirksville, MO and graduated
from the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, MO.


She had been employed as the Art Teacher in the Clark County R-1 School
District for ten years and recently received her Ten Year Medallion. She was an outstanding teacher and mentor to
her students.

Kari was a member of the Bible Baptist
Church in Kahoka, MO and was active in the VBS program as the craft
director. She was a member and past
president of the Missouri State Teacher’s Association. She had served as yearbook advisor, Art Club
Sponsor and Prom Sponsor at Clark County R-1 High School.

She enjoyed crafts of all kinds,
scrapbooking, sketching and gardening.
Kari was a wonderful daughter and mother and loved her family very
much.

She is survived by one son, Dylan Mikel
Wright of Kahoka, one daughter, Jade Ann Wright of Kahoka, her parents, Gerald
& Judy Sawyer of Kahoka, one brother, Kim Sawyer of Bloomington, IL, her
fiancé John Pollock of Texas and Kahoka, aunts and uncles, Virginia Johnson,
Deloris Shannon, Darlean Mohr, Lanora Davis, David and Jackie Kephart, Tina
Roller, Richard Roller, Kenneth Roller, Timothy and Gerry Roller, Thomas and
Sally Roller, Rex and Joann Roller, Nancy and Jack Edlen, Susan Redding, Gloria
and Larry Kiger, Jacquilyn Boatman, Kelly and
Darrell Varnold, and many, many cousins, friends and students.

She was preceded in death by her
grandparents, Noble and Vivian Roller and Stella and Leslie Sawyer, uncles, Tony
Roller, Keith Redding, Jim Boatman, Dean Sawyer, Bobby Sawyer and Delbert
Weller, aunts, Judy Sawyer Monych and Vera McGirl.

Funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m.,
Thursday at the Clark County R-1 High School in Kahoka with Pastor Orlie Yoder
and Pastor Tim Roller officiating.

Burial will be in the Kahoka
Cemetery.

Visitation will be held after 1 p.m.,
Wednesday at the Vigen Memorial Home in Kahoka with the family meeting with
friends from 5 – 8 p.m.

Memorials may be made to her children’s
college fund or the Vivian Roller Endowment in memory of Kari.
