JOSEPH E. RUDD

Joseph Elmo Rudd, age 78, of Edina, Missouri, died Monday, January 26, 2009, at the Knox County Nursing Home in Edina, Missouri.
He was born in Knox County, Missouri on February 1, 1930, the son of Joseph Morton and Lula McKenzie Rudd.
On December 26, 1953, at LaBelle, he was united in marriage to Bonnie Jean Dinwiddie and she preceded him on July 3, 1988.
Mr. Rudd was also preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, Beulah Campbell, Evia Hall, Estyle Klocke, Dortha M. Minor, and one brother, JM Rudd.
Surviving are one son, Darrell Rudd and wife Phyllis of Edina, Missouri; one brother, James Rudd of Knox City, Missouri; one sister, Elizabeth Bradley of Novelty, Missouri; three grandchildren, Jessica Ann Rudd and her fiancée Billy Reardon, Joseph Rudd and Justin Rudd; one great grandchild, Bradey Reardon and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Elmo attended Knox County rural schools and graduated from LaBelle High School. He was employed with his brother as a mechanic at Rudd’s Garage in Knox City, Missouri, and was engaged in farming in the Newark area.
Elmo enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Thursday, January 29, 2009, at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri. Burial will be in the LaBelle Cemetery. Reverend Mike Wilson will officiate the services.
Casket bearers will be Wayne Rudd, David Parsons, Bill Davis, Kenny Brocksmith, Kent Spindler and Wenzel Bradley.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. till time of services at 3 p.m. on Thursday, January 29, 2009, at Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri.
