LARRY L. ALLENSWORTH

Larry Leroy Allensworth, age 68, of Knox City, Missouri, died March 21, 2008, at the Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, Missouri.
He was born February 23, 1940, in Knox City, Missouri, the son of Velvidor Robert “Val” and Velma McFadden Allensworth.
On November 8, 1961, in Princeton, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Victoria Ellifritz and to this union four children were born.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Sammy Joe Allensworth on December 14, 2000.
He is survived by a special friend, Julia Pape of Knox City, Missouri, one daughter, Terri Clark of Novinger, Missouri, two sons, Tracy Allensworth of Ardmore, Oklahoma and Jeffery Allensworth and wife Lisa of Kirksville, Missouri, one sister, Ermma Jean Takac and husband Don of Orlando, Florida, one brother Roger Allensworth and wife Nancy of Winslow, Missouri, four grandchildren, Daniel Allensworth of Reed Springs, Missouri, Timothy Allensworth of Hannibal, Missouri, Tiffany Clark of Novinger, Missouri, and Teresa Allensworth of Calumet, Oklahoma, two great grandchildren, along with several nieces, nephews, friends and relatives.
After receiving his high school diploma at Knox City High School he chose to remain in the Knox City area for over 36 years, while working various jobs in the bridge construction and carpentry areas until he had to retire due to health issues in 1999.
Since that time he has enjoyed wood working projects, watching ballgames, spending time with family and friends, or just tinkering with miscellaneous items in the garage, and even the occasional trip to the gambling boat.
Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Monday, March 24, 2008, at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri. The Reverend Mike Wilson officiated the services. Burial was in the Knox City Cemetery in Knox City, Missouri. Music was provided by Carol Hayes, organist and Mike Wilson, soloist. Casket bearers were Roger Allensworth, Tracy Allensworth, Jeff Allensworth, Bobby Pape, Mickey Tom Lumley and John Will Nicol.
