Knox County Ambulance District Issues Public Statement Following Former Manager’s Guilty Plea, Resignation

On Friday, March 3, 2017, the Knox County Ambulance District released the following statement from the Board of Directors exclusively to The Edina Sentinel concerning the recent guilty plea and resignation of former Manager and Paramedic Russell Hall:

The Knox County Ambulance District was saddened to learn that the conditions of the proposed Settlement Agreement for Russell Hall included that he not continue, at least for now, as a practicing paramedic.

Russell has been in the progress of making complete restitution to the District, and has complied with all requirements given him.

Russell never adversely affected the District’s medication inventory including our controlled substances inventory. He never showed any impairment while on duty, and quality assurance review of his trip reports shows absolutely no compromise in patient care.

Although this loss of a paramedic will put considerable pressure on our two remaining paramedics, we are confident that with their dedication, recruitment of part-time people, and careful usage of our finite resources, we will be able for the foreseeable future to continue to maintain an advance life support capability for the District.

We are also pleased to report the Russell Hall has successfully completed a rehabilitation program. We wish him well in his future endeavors.
