Roger Steven Gipson, age 60, of Edina, Missouri, passed away Thursday, May 19, 2016, in Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, Missouri.

He was born in Macon, Missouri, on November 18, 1955, the son of Durwood J. (Woody) and Evelyn Wriedt Gipson.  He was united in marriage to Alice Ewalt on May 11, 1990, at Edina, Missouri.

Surviving are his wife, Alice Gipson of Edina, Missouri; one daughter, Ann (Stan) Lynch of Columbia, Missouri; four grandsons, Jaston Boone of Columbia, Missouri, Cedric Boone of Edina, Missouri, Rayden Wheeler of Columbia, Missouri, and Trace Wheeler of Edina, Missouri; twin granddaughters, Misty and Destiny Lynch, of Lancaster, Missouri; five sisters, Donna Rowlison of Edina, Missouri, Connie (Jim) Hyde of Versailles, Missouri, Beverly (David) Arment of Edina, Missouri, Bonnie (Dale) Bowen of Edina, Missouri, and Gloria (Kenny) Dooley of Novelty, Missouri; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Jewel See, Roberta Agee, Barbara Ewalt, Deloris Ewalt, Garland and Betty Ewalt, Roy Lee and Mary Ewalt; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents; brothers-in-law, Ralph Agee, John Ewalt, Albert Ewalt, Charlie Ewalt, Byron Ewalt, Bill See, Oscar Pemberton and John Rowlison; two sisters-in-law, Carol Pemberton and Euvannah Ewalt; and a nephew, Travis Arment.

Roger was a graduate of Knox County R-I High School in Edina in 1973.  For the past 43 years he has been employed at Edina Farm & Home where he was currently manager.   Roger enjoyed all sports, coaching, bowling, golfing and hunting. Roger was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus and a past member of the Knox County Rescue Squad.  He enjoyed his time at the coffee shop and visiting with friends.  But the time spent with his grandkids and family was his life.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 25, 2016, in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri.  Pastor Rick Barnes will officiate for the services and musical selections will be “Take My Hand Precious Lord”, “Go Rest High On That Mountain”, “Heaven” and “If I Had Only Known”.

Burial will be in Park View Memorial Gardens.  Casket bearers will be his nephews, Danny Arment, Chad Arment, Michael Hyde, Curtiss Hyde, Greg Rowlison, Gary Rowlison, Scott Bowen, Josh Bowen, Brett Bowen, Chris Dooley and Robert Dooley and Honorary bearers will be Carter Boone, Farm & Home and Lucky’s Morning Coffee Group.

Visitation will be held after 4 p.m. on Tuesday, May 24, 2016, in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri.  Family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri.
