Norman D. Butler

Norman D. Butler, age 78, of Medill, MO, died Monday, May 2, 2016 in the All American Care Center of Muscatine in Muscatine, IA.

Norman was born August 3, 1937 in Chambersburg, MO, a son of Steve and Irene Jones Butler.

He married Helen Boyd and they later divorced. He married Shirley Elder who preceded him in death.

Survivors include two step-sons, Ricky Boyd of Memphis, MO and Patrick Shannon of Granger, MO; two step-daughters, Deborah Pruett of Kahoka, MO and Vicki Scott of Kahoka, MO; son-in-law, Paul Kinkade of Kahoka, MO; step grandchildren: Josiah (Gabrielle) Pruett and their son, Ian, of Hannibal, MO, Elisha (Sarah) Pruett and Dylan, Aiden and Evan, of Quincy, IL, Micah Pruett and Tristan and Elizabeth of Kahoka, MO, Joshua Pruett and Malachi of Springfield, IL, Tara Pruett and Delilah, Preston, and Ashton of Kahoka, MO; Alisha (Geoff) Sauer, Quinn and Kennedy of Ames, IA, Amanda (Aaron) Johanson and Klara of Marion, IA, Ariane Horsey (Matt Botholdt) and Bazyl, Avi, and Gabe of Bellevue, NE, Tim (Valli) Kinkade of Denver, CO, Eli (Michelle) Shannan and Allayna of Melvin, IL, Seth (Tammy) Shannan, Emma, Kaleb and Connor of Champaign, IL, Jessalynn Scott (Greg Crall) and Brantley of Fort Madison, IA, Jasmine (Brad) Hamner and Hayden of Memphis, MO, and Steven Scott of Kahoka, MO; a sister-in-law, Jeanette Butler of Keokuk, IA; as well as nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Shirley; a step-daughter, Jenny Kinkade; son-in-law, Richard Pruett; two sisters, Delphine Yates and Joyce McColm; three brothers: Bobby Butler, John Butler, and Roger Butler; and, sister-in-law and brothers-in-law, Sylvia Butler, Larry McColm and Elmer Yates.

Norman was a retired employee of Fruehauf. He was a simple man with a heart of gold who would do anything for anyone. He enjoyed driving around in his truck and visiting with family and friends. He was a wonderful stepfather and grandfather and his greatest enjoyment came from spending time with them.

Cremation has been provided. There will be no services at this time. Inurnment will be held at a later date in the Combs Cemetery at Luray, MO.

Arrangements were handled by Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka.
