Billy J. Hiles, 78, of Kansas City, KS, died Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at his home.
Billy worked for the Santa Fe Railroad for 42 years as a conductor.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Janice (Lowe) Hiles, his children, Tammy Hiles, Faron Hiles, Kevin Hiles and Lisa Hilt, all of the Kansas City area; six grandchildren; his mother, Hazel Hiles of Fort Madison, Iowa; one sister, Betty Tucker; one brother, Dean Hiles; three sisters-in-law, Margaret Mathena of Port Byron, IL, Joyce Reed of Round Rock, TX and Betty Lowe of Edina and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, an infant daughter, his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Kenneth and Isabel Lowe and brothers-in-law, Jimmy Lowe and Lloyd Reed.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 2, 2014, at Charter Funerals in Merriam, KS. Burial was in the Maple Hill Cemetery.
