Canton Man Arrested After 32 Dead Head Of Cattle Were Found On Property In Rural Lewis County

LCSO - On April 29, 2014 members of the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office arrested Kirby W. Clark, age 57, of rural Canton, Missouri on one count of animal abuse and 31 counts of failure to properly dispose of dead animals, all misdemeanor offenses.

This arrest is the result of a March 2014 investigation conducted by the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.  On March 21, 2014 the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office served a search warrant to Mr. Clark and searched his farm located in rural Lewis County. At that time law enforcement located 28 dead cattle in a small pond along with 4 other cattle in other locations on the farm.

Mr. Clark was released after posting $10,000 bond (10% cash allowed).

The Lewis County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Missouri Department of Agriculture.
