The saturation was held on March 17, 2014, from 8 p.m. until midnight. During this enforcement operation, officers patrolled specific areas with a goal of detecting impaired drivers and other traffic violations that contribute to traffic crashes. As a result of the operation, officers issued 11 traffic citations and 34 warnings. The following is a list of enforcement contacts made during the saturation:
4 — Citations were issued for exceeding the speed limit
4 — Citations were issued for non-moving violations
3 — Citations were issued for insurance violations
“The Patrol will conduct more traffic enforcement programs in the upcoming months,” stated Captain Wilt. “The Missouri State Highway Patrol is very serious about removing the impaired driver from our roadways. If drinking is a part of your plans, choose a sober designated driver.”
The Patrol encourages motorists and watercraft operators to protect themselves by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint and everyone in the vessel is wearing an approved life jacket. Click It 4 Life and Wear It!!!
