JEFFERSON CITY – Gov. Jay Nixon today appointed Thomas P. Redington as Associate Circuit Judge for Knox County. He will fill the vacancy created by the retirement of the Honorable William Alberty.
Redington has served as the elected Prosecuting Attorney for Marion County since 1996, and has tried more than 100 jury trials. Prior to his election, he was an attorney in private practice. Redington is a member of the board of directors of the Hannibal Council on Alcohol and Drug Abuse, and served as its president in 2013, and also serves on the board of the Missouri Association of Drug Court Professionals. He also has been involved in numerous civic and legal organizations in northeast Missouri for many years.
Redington obtained his bachelor’s degree from Quincy University and his law degree from the University of Seattle School of Law.
“Tom Redington has been a great public servant as the Marion County Prosecuting Attorney, and I know he will continue that outstanding public service on the bench in Knox County,” Gov. Nixon said. “I am pleased to appoint him as the county’s new Associate Circuit Judge.”
