Clarence Allen (C.A.) O’Neal of Orange City, FL died October 2, 2013, in Halifax Health Hospice, Volusia Flagler, FL. He was born May 15, 1930 in Warsaw, MO to Venilie (Nellie) and Paul H. O’Neal, Sr.
He was a 1947 graduate of Knox City High School and joined the U.S. Navy at age 17. He retired as Chief Petty Officer after 20 years of service. He then worked at the Pentagon after his retirement. He returned to Quincy, IL in 1968. He worked as Surgery Manager at Blessing Hospital until moving to Florida in 1985.
He was married to Elsie Burton on July 19, 1975. She survives and lives in Florida.
In addition he is survived by a daughter, Patricia Havermale. Elsie’s children, Elly Andrews, Melody Nichols, John Burton and Lisa Cassidy; 12 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
He was one of 13 children, six of whom survive: Esther Sedelmeier, Elizabeth “Betty” Harvey and Margaret (Norb) Dixon of Quincy, IL, Harriet (Ewell) Andrews of Beardstown, IL, Charles (Marilyn) O’Neal of Lewistown, MO and Philip (Cheryl) of Maywood, MO.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Thomas, a son, James O’Neal; his parents; 2 sisters, Willa Hunziker and Millie O’Neal; 4 brothers, Paul O’Neal, Jr., Robert, Thomas and John O’Neal.
Funeral services were held October 7, 2013 in DeLand Memorial Park Cemetery in DeLand, FL.
Memorials were suggested to Halifax Health Hospice of Volusia Flagler, FL.
