Edina Police Chief Resigns Effective November 15, 2013

On Monday night, October 14, 2013, after closing part of the regularly scheduled Edina City Council meeting to discuss personnel matters the council reopened the meeting and voted to accept the resignation of Edina Police Chief Roger Waibel effective November 15, 2013.

According to a resignation letter given to Mayor Davey Strickler, Chief Waibel stated he was resigning to retire from law enforcement.

All council members present, Sid Leckbee, Renee Edwards, Tom Morgret, Ron Stansberry and Gordon Edwards, voted to accept Chief Waibel’s resignation. Craig Miller was absent from the meeting.
