Victor Ivan Brenizer, age 92, of Edina, MO, died Wednesday, September 18, 2013, at the Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, MO. He was born May 10, 1921, in Schuyler County, MO, the son of Francis Marion and Carrie Emma Weitzel Brenizer. Victor attended school and graduated from Novelty, MO. He later attended Chillicothe
He was born May 10, 1921, in Schuyler County, MO, the son of Francis Marion and Carrie Emma Weitzel Brenizer.
Victor attended school and graduated from Novelty, MO. He later attended Chillicothe Business College. He spent most of his life in Quincy, IL, where he worked for several years for Firestone Tire and Rubber. He also managed several restaurants in Quincy before moving to Scottsbluff, NE.
He was active in the Episcopal Church, both in Quincy, IL and Scottsbluff, serving wherever they needed him. In June 2011, he moved back to the Knox County Nursing home to be close to his family. He quickly made friends with residents and staff alike.
Victor had a very caring and giving heart. It was his desire that everyone follow Christ in their own way so that they could have eternal life.
Victor enjoyed flower gardening, yard work, his cat and spending time with his family and friends.
Surviving are two nephews, Eugene Brenizer and wife Marjorie of Novelty, MO, J.L. Brenizer and wife Belinda of Edina, MO, four nieces, Betty Poertner and husband Larry of Marthasville, MO, Joan Gilbert and husband Jerry of Wentzville, MO, Carolyn McAfee and husband Charlie of Jefferson, GA, and Margaret Hamlin of St. Louis, MO, and several great nieces and nephews.
Victor was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Fredrick and Perley Brenizer, one niece Mary Jane Hamlin and one nephew Robert Brenizer.
Memorial services were held 2 p.m. Sunday, September 22, 2013, at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO. Reverend Bill Gaines officiated at the services. Burial will be at a later date in the Locust Hill Cemetery. Music was provided by Brent Karhoff, soloist and Nancy Reardon, organist.
