He was born January 17, 1945, in Stockton, CA, the son of Earl Lendel and Laura Mae Rader Bacon.
He was united in marriage to Beth Wendell on December 20, 1968, at Roodhouse, IL and to this union three children were born.
Surviving are three sons, William “Billy” Bacon of Conrad, IA, Raymond Bacon and wife Alicia of Bethel, MO, and Robert “Bob” Bacon and wife Amy of Boston, MA, one sister June Atkinson and husband Gordon of New Berlin, IL, one half brother Jim Schenck of Pahrump, NV, eight grandchildren, Bryce, Brooke, Bo, Ty, Oz, Bree, Andrew and Bella Bacon and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Bill graduated from High School in Roodhouse, IL. He served his country in the United States Army from 1965 to 1971. After his military service Bill began employment with Caterpillar in East Peoria, IL, where he received training in welding. In 1971, Bill moved west of Novelty, MO, where he was engaged in farming. Bill had been active in the Novelty Community Club and had coached baseball and girls softball. He was a past Masonic member in East Peoria, IL. Bill enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday evening December 15, 2012, in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO. Bill’s wishes were to be cremated. There will be no services.
