Carl Vernon McReynolds, age 78, of LaBelle, MO, died Monday, April 9, 2012, in the blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL. He was born November 15, 1933, at Knox City, MO, the son of Carl and Edna Lawson McReynolds.
He was united in marriage to Darlene Grace Gunn on June 14, 1959, at Bellevue, Iowa and she preceded him in death on May 8, 2006.
Mr. McReynolds was also preceded in death by his parents and one brother Everett McReynolds.
Surviving are one daughter Pam Hunolt and husband Rob of LaBelle, MO, one grandson Bradley Hunolt of LaBelle, MO, two sister-in-laws Gladys Brink of Camp Point, IL, and Jeanne Gilbert of O’Fallon, MO, three brother-in-laws, Wendell Gunn and wife Mary of Belfair, Washington, Allen Gunn and wife Gloria of Royse City, TX, and Marvin Gunn and wife Peggy of Atwater, CA. Mr. McReynolds was raised in rural Knox and Lewis Counties. He received his education at Knox City, MO. Carl served his country in the United States Navy from February 19, 1952 to February 13, 1956. He was a member of the Union of Operating Engineers and was employed in construction for several years. He was also engaged in farming north of LaBelle, MO. He enjoyed gardening, hunting and spending time with his family.
Graveside services were held 10 a.m. Thursday, April 12, 2012, at the Deer Ridge Cemetery north of LaBelle, MO. Reverend Mike Wilson officiated the services. Military Honors were conducted at the cemetery by Knox City American Legion Post # 358. Casket bearers were Robert Hunolt, Dennis Briscoe, Greg Gilbert, Tim Lay, Geoff Gilbert and Tom Cramsey.
