Clara Norene Strickler, age 76, of Brashear, MO, passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2012, in the Kirksville Manor Care Nursing Home in Kirksville.
She was born September 19, 1935, at Callao, MO, the daughter of Omer Paul and Grace Irene Samm Ward. She was united in marriage to Robert Dale (Bob) Strickler on August 26, 1976, at LasVegas, NV.
Surviving are her husband Bob of Brashear, MO, one brother William (Dub) Ward and wife Helen of Fulton, MO, two sisters, Verna Drennan and husband Bill of Kirksville, MO, Irene Carter of Kirksville, MO, and several nieces and nephews. Clara was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Bernice Ward, and three brothers, Wayne, Merle and Norman Ward.
Clara attended school at Callao, MO and graduated from Ft. Scott Christian High School at Ft. Scott, KS. She lived most of her life in Adair County where she was employed with McGraw-Edison 23 years and Northeast Missouri Home Health for 12 years. For the past 35 years she and her husband Bob have resided in Brashear, MO. Clara enjoyed helping people, flowers, gardening, sewing, quilting, traveling and collecting dolls.
There was no visitation. Funeral services were held Saturday, March 10, 2012, at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Kirksville, MO. Reverend Darrell Draper officiated the services. Burial will be at a later date in the Good Shepherd Mausoleum at Park View Memorial Gardens.
Musical selections were be “Go Rest High On That Mountain” and “How Great Thou Art”.
