NEMO Coop Holds 2012
By Echo Menges
This year the Northeast Missouri Coop of Edina and
Shelbyville’s 2012 Annual Membership Meeting packed the Knights of Columbus
Hall full to the brim. According to Coop manager, Larry Klocke, over 200
dinners were served to attendees on Thursday, March 1, 2012.
“I think we had about all we could take,” said Klocke.
“There was a good turnout for the meeting.”
NEMO Coop members were treated to a meal catered by Noland’s
out of Macon.
“We’ve used them for the past three years and they always do
a good job on the food,” said Klocke.
During the business portion of the meeting NEMO Coop members
re-elected President Harold Beach and Director Kirk Bryant to serve another
three-year term on the Board of Directors. The organization’s financial reports
were gone over and attendees were given a brief talk about the importance of
early weed control this season.
“Don’t wait to get
weeds taken care of. After they reach about 12 inches there’s no way to get
them under control,” said Klocke.
Shareholders also received checks for their earnings over
the last year and door prizes were handed out before the meeting was concluded.
