Herchel L. Knaack, 68, Lawson, Mo., died Thursday, January 19, 2012 at the North Kansas City Hospital. Herchel was born on November 4, 1943 in Knox County, Mo., the son of Virgil Knaack and Alta (Parrish) Elliott. He served in the United States Army Reserves. On March 17, 1967, he was married to Jeanne (Scobee) Knaack, who survives of the home.
He was employed as a mechanic for Ford Motor Company Claycomo Plant for over 32 years retiring in 1994. Herchel always enjoyed lunchtime with his friends at Catrick’s Cafe in Lawson, Mo.
Besides his wife, Jeanne, survivors include three daughters, Tammy Walker and husband, Kris, Lawson, Mo., Tara Blair and husband, Eric, Lawson, Mo., and Teresa Staats and husband, Jeremy, Corpus Christi, Texas; one son, Todd Knaack and wife, Angela, Lawson, Mo.; one brother, Eddie Knaack of Oregon; seven grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. on Sunday, January 22, 2012 at the Polley Funeral Home, Lawson, Mo. Burial was in the Lawson Cemetery, Lawson, Mo. The family received friends one hour prior to services on Sunday at the funeral home.
