Willard Clark Cole, age 84 of Sparta, Missouri went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, December 17, 2011.
Willard was born on March 8, 1927 in Macon County, Missouri and was the son of Fred and Verna Cole. May 5, 1944, he married Neva Hasher who survives.
Also surviving are, son Randall Cole and wife Belinda of Sparta, Missouri; daughter Barbara Rohr and husband Kerwin of Sedalia, Missouri; son-in-law Ralph Baarslag of Tacoma, Washington; daughter-in-law Anita Cobb of Seneca, Missouri; Grand-children Tamara Fulk, husband Scott and children of Cedar Rapid, Iowa, Mike Rohr and wife Angie of St. Louis, Missouri, Jessica Stewart and husband Troy of Sarcoxie, Missouri, Russell Cole, wife Erin and children of Joplin, Missouri Rebecca Scalf, husband Daniel and children, of Seneca, Missouri, Michelle Blakely and husband Michael of Carthage, Missouri, Andrew Cole of Ozark, Missouri, Kelsey Cole of Sedalia, Missouri, Jennifer Barnes and daughter of Ozark, Missouri, Richard Barnes wife Jessica and son of Sparta, Missouri, and Stephanie Barnes of Sparta, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his parents Fred and Verna Cole, son Russell Cole and daughter Carolyn Baarslag, and one sister Irene Davis.
Willard was a farmer most of his life. He took great pride in raising Angus cattle and had a historic herd. He was a member to the American Angus Association. He loved to hunt and was an avid hunter bagging a number of trophy animals. He loved to travel taking many trips with tour groups and to the Northwest to visit family. Willard loved his family and will be greatly missed.
Funeral Services were Thursday, December 22, 2011 at Travis Funeral Chapel, La Plata, Missouri, with Pastor John Gorham officiating. Burial was in the La Plata Cemetery in La Plata, Missouri.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Alzheimer’s Association or Hospice.
