Teens Rescued From Flooded Fox River
On June 15, 2011 at approximately 6:40 am, the Clark County Sheriff’s Office
recieved a call from one of it’s citizens, who reported hearing someone yelling
for help, just below a bridge, near their home, located off a county gravel
road, approximately 2.5 miles northeast of Kahoka, Missouri.
arrival, two teens, one 16 and the other 18 years old, both of Clark County,
Missouri, were spotted clinging to trees, along the Fox River’s bank. Clark
County Rescue, Missouri Conservation Agents, Keokuk Water Rescue Patrol, and the
Clark County Ambulance were all dispatched to the scene to assist the Clark
County Sheriff’s Office. A plan was formulated and executed, and at
approximately 8:55 am, both subjects were pulled from the raging

where one was released on the scene, without serious medical injury and the
other transported to Keokuk Area Hospital for further medical

the agencies that assisted in the rescue and again I was impressed to see the
outcome of the different agencies, working together, to accomplish an important
mission, with positive results.
