Marlin “Sparky” Wenger Not Guilty

Friday, April 22, 2011, Adair Circuit Court Judge Russell Steele found Marlin “Sparky” Wenger, 38, of Edina not guilty of felony counts of Second Degree Statutory Sodomy and Forcible Sodomy.
A change of venue brought Wenger’s bench trial from Knox County, where it began in January of 2009, to the Adair County Circuit Court and was presided over by Judge Russell Steele. The trial began Thursday, April 21, 2011 and concluded the following day with Judge Steele finding Wenger not guilty.
Wenger says hearing the verdict of not guilty allowed him to breathe a long awaited sigh of relief.
“It only took the judge thirty minutes to come back with the verdict.” Said Wenger. “I feel like I can finally get on with my life. I commend my attorneys Andrew Farwell and Tim Reuschel on a job very well done.”
