Barbara Ann Goodwin, age 82, of Edina, Missouri, died Wednesday, April 6, 2011, at the Knox County Nursing Home in Edina, Missouri.
She was born at Knox City, Missouri on March 25, 1929, the daughter of Johnnie Lee and Vadah Belle Matticks Norton.
She was united in marriage to Garland Davis on January 12, 1946, and he preceded her in death on August 27, 1966. She was united in marriage to Orville Marvin Goodwin on June 2, 1968, and he preceded her in death on May 15, 1991.
Surviving are three children, Richard E. Davis and wife Amy of Edina, Missouri, Clifford Lee Davis and wife Susie of Knox City, Missouri, Ricky Royal Davis of Knox City, Missouri, one brother J.V. Norton and wife Joyce Ann of Knox City, Missouri, one step daughter Kathy Henchsen and husband Donnie of Mt. Olive, Illinois, one step son, Marvin Goodwin and wife Mary Lou of Lewistown, Missouri, a daughter-in-law Denise Davis of Revere, Missouri, twenty-one grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, one nephew and two nieces.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Jerry Ray Davis and Mickey Gene Davis, a step-daughter Evelyn, and a step son Kenneth Goodwin.
Barbara attended school at White Oak rural school and graduated from Knox City High School. She was employed at Motorola for several years, cooked at Knox City School, Knox County R-1 School, LaBelle Manor and was employed at Knox County RCF. Barbara enjoyed traveling, camping, sewing, her pets, playing cards and spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of the Knox City Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held 11 AM Friday, April 8, 2011, at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri. Reverend Doug Wilson and Reverend Richard Handyside officiated the services. Burial was in the Knox City Cemetery. Casket bearers were Timothy Davis, Dusty Davis, Adam Davis, Jerry Davis, Jon Davis, Billy Davis, Christopher Davis and Mike Sjeversen.
