Few Choices On April 5 Ballot

Clark County voters won’t have many choices on the ballot when they go to the polls next Tuesday, April 5, as only a few races are contested.
In Kahoka, Mayor Wayne Blum in unchallenged for another two year term, as are West Ward Alderman Jerry Webber and East Ward Alderman Jeff Wood.
Wayland voters will chose a new mayor as Michelle “Micky” Roberts faces Lance Sonnenburg for the office. Voters will also select two aldermen, chosing between Sally Fox, Doug Smeltser and Shirley Bunker.
In Luray, voters will elect two members to the Village Board of Trustees. On the ballot are Ed Nye, Chris Moeller and Steven M. Buium.
In Alexandria, Tina Fox ins unopposed for the Ward 1 Alderman position, and Ronald Gates is unchallenged in Ward 2.
In Wyaconda, Heather Williams is unchallenged for the Mayor’s office. Tracy Russell is the only name on the ballot in the East Ward, and Lisa Ann Cochran is the only name appearing on the West Ward ballot.
Clark County Ambulance District 6 voters will chose between Ruth Brotherton and Vicki LeVeck for a three-year term on the board, and Clark County Ambulance District 3 have no names appearing for a three-year term.
Lewis County C-1 voters will chose three directors for a three-year term. On the ballot will be Donna R. Collier, Douglas G. Lay, Jamie Brennan, Harry Scifres and Randall Sharpe. C-1 voters will also fill an unexpired term, with either Neil Jennings or E.H. Smith.
Scotland County R-1 voters will chose three board members for a three-year term. Appearing on the ballot are Samuel Berkowitz, Paul Campbell, Matt McKee and George Koontz.
Polling places will open from 6:00am until 7:00pm on Tuesday, April 5. A sample ballot can be reviewed on Page 13 of this week’s edition of The Media.
