Clark County Kept Expenses Under Control In 2010
Clark County spent $219,920.79 more in 2010 than it budgetted for, but the difference was largely due to courthouse construction expenses, which we not budgeted in the 201 budget but totalled $206,001.85.
As a whole, the county did a good job minding its spending, with only four funds in the red, and three of those were only modest amounts.
The General Revenue fund, which accounts for wages and benefits for many of the county’s elected officials, as well as office expenses, spent $877,536.82 in 2010, more than $54,000 less than what was budgeted. For 2011, the budget is $931,596.36.
The Special Road and Bridge Fund overspent its 2010 budget by $47,597.86 last year. This year, $1,731,750.97 was appropriated for Road and Bridge.
The Assessment Fund, which accounts for the expenses of the Assessor’s Office, spent $127,587.34, near $7,000 under budget. For 2011, their budget will be $123,561.30.
The Prosecuting Attorney Retirement spent $2244, exactly on budget, and that budget remains the same.
The Law Enforcement Training Fund spent $2811.54 in 2010, finishing under budget by near $700. The 2011 budget will be $3786.31.
The Prosecuting Attorney Training Fund also came in under budget by $204. ?The 2011 budget will be $1490.46.
The Prosecuting Attorney Bad Check fund spent $5309.88 in 2010, under budget by nearly $3000. Its 2011 budget will be $1542.58.
The County’s Half-Cent Sales Tax Road and Bridge Fund, which pays for road rock and other equipment, spent $223,860.10 in 2010, some $55,000 under budget. This year’s budget will be $337,981.45.
The Community Service Fund spent only $10,851.02 of its $42,200 2010 budget. Their 2011 budget remains at $42,200.
The Recorder Automatic Fund spent only $86.25 in 2010, out if its $6464.54 budget. The 2011 budget is $8000.
The Half-Cent Jail Building fund spent nothing in 2010, and its 2011 budget is $868.11.
The Half-Cent Jail/Law Enforcement Fund, which accounts for Sheriff’s Department expenses, spent $717,324.68 in 2010, 5488.36 under budget. Their 2011 appropriation will be $755,861.48.
The Community Development Block Grant Fund, which overspent by $1142.50 in 2010, and had zero dollars budgetted for 2011.
The Civil Process Fund spent just more than half of its
$11818.55 2010 budget. Its 2011 budget will be $13391.87.
The Youth Fund spent $46345.50 in 2010. It is budgeted for $13915.97 in 2011.
The Election Service Fund spent $2493.49 of its $8000 budget in 2010. Its 2011 budget will be $5853.
The Domestic Violence Against Women Fund spent $41094.82 in 2010, over $3000 less than budget. In 2011, its budget has been set at $44371,70.
The Domestic Violence Fund spent $7972.87 in 2010. Its 2011 budget will be $11500.
Local Emergency Planning spent $3117.13 in 2010, and their 2011 budget will be $8209.79.
The Peace Officers Training Fund spent $1322.59 in 2010. The 2011 budget will be $2524.61.
The Recorder Fund spent zero dollars in 2010, and its 2011 budget will be $10041.48.
The Sales Tax Surplus Fund sped $119.12 in 2010. Its 2011 budget will be $13299.04.
The Local Law Enforcement (Canine) Fund spent zero dollars in 2010, and has a budget of $2981.81 in 2011.
The Law Enforcement Restitution Fund spent $8554.83 in 2010. Its 2011 budget will be $27,172.72.
The Help America Vote Fund, which had a $$12308 budget for 2010, spent nothing, and has a 2011 budget of $10,000.
The Election Equipment Fund spent $4104 or its $19050.50 budget in 2010. Its 2011 budget will be $10,000.
The Courthouse Restoration Fund spent noting in 2010, and has no budget for 2011.
The Inmate Security Fund spent $4763.80, overspending its 2010 budget by $499.80. Its 2011 budget will be $3534.20.
The Prescription Pill Diversion Fund spend 15,033.83 of its$24115.89 2010 budget. This year, its budget is $15106.93.
The Law Enforcement Block Grant Fund spent $2144.77 last year. Its 2011 budget will be $9035.19.
The County has added four new fund for 2011. They are Courthouse Construction, with a $2 million budget, Courthouse Debt Service, with a budget of $225,400, and a Courthouse Sales Tax, which is budgeted to pay out $150,000 in 2011.
The final new fund is a Building Maintenance Fund, which has a $10,000 budget.
