The Kahoka/Clark County Chamber of Commerce held its annual Christmas Dinner on Monday, December 6, at Cookies Cafe in Kahoka. Over thirty chamber members attended the dinner. Chamber president Bev Laffoon reported on Santa’s arrival in downtown Kahoka last Friday, and noted that about 80 children and their families were at Steve’s Family Dining to meet him. Drawings were held for Clark County Cash at several businesses, and several other businesses held their own in-store prize drawings. The chamber members present re-elected three board members. Karen Arnold, Jan Wyrick and Maria Shirey will all return to the board. The Chamber also presented two “Golden Hammer” awards, to two of Kahoka’s newest businesses: Cruisers and H&M Antiques. “Things have been pretty tough around Clark County this year,” said Laffoon, “but we want to wish everyone the Merriest Christmas and a Happy and Prosperous New Year.
