THOMAS A. CORBIN

Thomas Alva Corbin, 87, died peaceably October 4th 2010, in Berwyn, Illinois.


Thomas was born July 13, 1923 in Edina, Missouri and he was also raised there.


Thomas married and moved to Illinois in the 60’s where he faithfully worked in the bakery industry and retired after 35 years of service. Thomas was a very giving and loving man, who will be forever remembered in the hearts and thoughts of his family and friends until they meet again.


Thomas served in the U.S. Navy in W.W. II asSeaman, First Class V6; Served on the USS Markab, USS Pasadena, & the USS Indiana;was present in Tokyo Bay on September 2, 1945 at the signing of surrender terms of the Allied Nations by the Japanese. He was honorably discharged in 1946.


He is survived by 4 children: Sherry Corbin Vandermay; Duane and wife, Suntharee; Darrel; Tammy Corbin Amaro and husband, Frank Amaro. 7 Grandchildren: Molly Corbin Howard, Duane Corbin Jr, Christina, Catherine, and Jacqueline Amaro, Vinida and Sorawit Mongkhonka. 2 Great Grandchildren: Nevaeh Norman and Jeremy Norman. Sister: Carmelita Kaiser; Brother: Harold Corbin; host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.


Interment service with full Military Honors October 29th, 2010 at 3:00pm at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery, Jacksonville, MO.
