Jesse McCain “Mack” Ketchum
Jesse McCain “Mack” Ketchum, 98, of Memphis, Missouri passed away May 8, 2010 at the Scotland County Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Missouri. The son of Cleve and Cora Todd Ketchum, he was born on June 2, 1911 in Schuyler County, Missouri.
Mack graduated from the Downing High School and married his high school sweetheart, Anna Maude Tadlock in 1930. She preceded him in death. To this union three children were born , Jesse, Dean, and Anna Jean. On march 22, 1997 he married Lavaughn Rice McKnight.
Mack was a devout Christian. He was member of the Memphis First Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and in many other capacities. He also served as a Gideon for many years. He was a family man and always enjoyed visiting and spending time with his family and friends.
Others preceding him in death were his parents, a brother, Leland Ketchum; a son, Dean Ketchum; a great-grandson , Jacob Ketchum; a son-in-law, Robert Kutzner; and a nephew, Bill Ketchum.
Surviving relatives include his wife Lavaughn Ketchum of the home in Memphis; one son, Jesse L. Ketchum (Juanita)of Kansas City, Missouri; one daughter; Anna Jean Mathes (Wayne) of Bolivar, Missouri; one daughter-in-law Ruth Ketchum of Lyons Colorado; a step-daughter, Helen Jean Prince (Glen) of Mendon Illinois; Sister-in-law, Mary Ketchum of Kirksville, Missouri; Grandchildren include Randy (Amy) Ketchum, Steve (Mardi) Ketchum, Karen Underwood, Sherri Kutzner, Terry Ketchum and fiancée Mary Sadler, Cindy (Joe) Rhoads, Angela (Tom) Rittenhouse, Kim (Ron) Sickles; great- grandchildren, Bo Ketchum, Ryan, Matthew and Casey Underwood, Tara Ketchum, Tommy and Robbie Rittenhouse, Jessica Ketchum Trevor Rittenhouse, Brandon Ketchum, C.J., Corey and Dre Ketchum; one great-great-grandson, Trey; along with several nieces, nephews and many friends.

Funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church on Friday, May 14, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Dan Hite officiating. Interment followed in the Memphis Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Joe Rhoads Ron Sickles, Terry Ketchum, Randy Ketchum, Steve Ketchum, and Rob Quillan. Honorary pallbearers were Joe Doubet, Garth Lloyd, Allan Adams, Gary Briggs, Jim Houston , Dave Burrus, David Myers, Curvin Martin and Darrell Monroe.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Payne Funeral chapel in Memphis.
