Jody Dale Jones

Jody Dale Jones, 32, of Rutledge, Missouri, died May 13, 2010. He was born June 14, 1977, the son of Jesse Richard and Terry Bogguss Jones.

He was united in marriage to Courtney Mattingly June 8. 2002 and to this union two daughters were born, Tori and Cali.

He was a graduate of Scotland County High School, Class of 1995. He attended Indian Hills Community College, graduating in 1997. He was a member of Pheasants Forever, V.F.W. # 4958 and the Moose Lodge in Kahoka, Missouri. He loved to participate in harness racing.

Jody was a Cardinals, Kansas City Chiefs and Mizzou Tigers fan. He also was an avid promoter of demolition derbies through Wide Open Promotions. He was employed by Barker Mfg. Company in Keosauqua, Iowa for 14 years in heating and refrigeration.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents and father.

Surviving relatives include his mother, Terry Jones and Bill Orton of Arbela, MO; two daughters, Tori and Cali Jones and their mother Courtney of Memphis, MO; two brothers, Doug Jones (Donna) of Wayland, MO and Bill Jones (Sharon) of Arbela, MO; nieces, Breann, Tanya, Paige and Evan, nephews, Cheth, Nathan and Seth, along with several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family to be used at their discretion and may be left at or mailed to Payne Funeral Chapel, 202 East Madison St., Memphis, Missouri 63555.

Funeral services were held on Monday, May 17, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at the Payne Funeral Chapel in Memphis with Pastor Barb Hagerla officiating.

Pallbearers were Dustin Davis, Chad Davis, Scott Adams, Dustin Cook, Curt Triplett, Travis Harris, Steve Hopwood and Dean Troutman. Honorary Pallbearers were Doug Jones, Bill Jones and Dustin Swearingen. Interment will be in the Oakland Cemetery in Argyle, Iowa

Arrangements were under the direction of the Payne Funeral Chapel in Memphis.
