Evelyn Mae Gutting

Evelyn Mae Gutting, age 93, of Morrice went to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, January 22, 2010, at Memorial Healthcare in Owossa, surrounded by many family members.
Funeral services were held at Watkins Brothers Funeral Home in Perry on Wednesday, January 27 at 11:00 am with Pastor Tom March, Pastor Dean Gardner and Pastor Kenneth Herbruck officiating. The family received friends at the funeral home on Monday 6-8 pm and Tuesday 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Burial  followed at Glass River Cemetery in Morrice.
Evelyn was born June 15, 1916 in Brookings, South Dakota, the daughter of George and Minnie Bailey. On December 7, 1938 she married Glen Gutting, Sr. in New London, MO. He  predeceased her in 1967. Evelyn was a great homemaker, devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother. She was an excellent chef, her genuine southern fried chicken, homemade noodles and homemade pies made the trip to grandma’s house even more special. Along with being a homemaker and farmers wife, she worked briefly at Universal Electric.
She is survived by her daughter, Charlotte (Gary) Carr of Bancroft, sons; Warren (Katherine) Gutting of Owosso, Darrell (friend Shelly Haker) Gutting of Harrison, and Jerry (Deborah) Gutting of Morrice Daughters-in-law Loretta Clark of Paxton, IL and Yasuko Gutting of Owossa and son-in-law, Leslie Burrell of Cape Coral, FL, 38 grandchildren, 56 great grandchildren and 17 great great grandchildren. Sisters, Lillian Dust of Stockbridge, Ellen Markva of Durand, Fern Tuttle of Durand, brothers Vernon Bailey of East Lansing and Marion “Bud” (Shirley) of Owossa, sisters-in-law Lila Bailey of Corunna and Barbara Bailey of Arlington, OH, and many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.
  She was preceded in death by her mother and father, husband Glen, Sr., daughter Lois Gross, sons Stanley Gutting and Larry Gutting. Granddaughters Tina Gutting, Linda Burrell and grandson Scott Gutting. Daughter-in-law Kathy Gutting, step daughters Jean Collins and Shirley Burrell, step sons Keith Gutting and Glen Gutting, Jr., brothers Marvin Bailey, Alvin Bailey and Merlin “Sonny” Bailey.
