Frankie Irene Walter, 89, of Hannibal, Missouri, died Sunday at the home of her son.
Frankie was born May 22, 1920 in Steffenville, Missouri to S. T. and Leora E. Marquette Byers.
Frankie married Raymond Walter May 14, 1939 in Edina, Mo. He preceded her in death after 63 ½ years of marriage on November 20, 2000.
She is survived by a daughter, Donna Joyce (Earl) Kindhart of Ursa, Il; son, Ronald (Pat) Walter of Hannibal; sister, Merlydene Buswell of Plankton, Tenn.; grandchildren; Jeff Kindhart of Quincy; Rob Kindhart of Belleville, Il; Tim Kindhart of Ursa, Il; Lon Kindhart of Keokuk, Ia; Ronda Oswalt of Palmyra; Chad Walter of Ewing, 19 great grandchildren, 10 great great grandchildren, close friend, Dot Oswalt, Hannibal, and many nieces, nephews, and extended family. Frankie was preceded in death by an infant son, Thomas Walter, brother, Willis Byers, and a granddaughter, Raylene Walter.
Frankie was a farm wife, a great cook and seamstress, and an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan. She also enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s sporting events. She was most proud of being a cancer survivor. She was a 1938 graduate of LaBelle High School and was a member of Ewing Baptist Church, Ewing, Mo.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A. M. Thursday at the Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel in Palmyra. Interment will be in the Steffenville Cemetery in Steffenville, Missouri. Visitation will be from 5-8 P. M. Wednesday at the Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Foundation or Anne Nicole Kindhart Helping Hand Foundation.
