Helen Frances Hutton, 95, resident of Knox County Nursing Home of Edina, Missouri, formally of Troy, died Friday, August 21, 2009 at the nursing home.
She was born November 8, 1913 in Troy, MO, a daughter of Thomas and Cora Brown Mathews. Helen attended school at Sugar Grove School and Buchanan College.
On December 18, 1932, Helen and Benjamin Willis (Bill) Hutton were wed. To this union two daughters were born. Helen was preceded in death by her beloved husband on February 8, 1977, and one daughter, Margaret Louise Hutton Hull in April, 1956.
She is survived by one daughter, Janice Hutton Howdeshell of Knox City, Missouri, three grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and many friends.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Troy. Helen was a member of the Rebekah Lodge and served as Noble Grand and many other offices.
Visitation was held Monday August 24, 2009 at the Kemper Marsh Millard Funeral Home/Chapel in Troy, Missouri. The funeral was held at the funeral home. Interment was at the Troy City Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
