Mary M. (Peggy) Webber

Mary M. (Peggy) Webber, born December 16, 1945 to Dr. and Mrs. E.J. Washle of
Louisville, KY, died at her home in St. Louis, under Hospice care on Monday,
August 17, 2009, following a lengthy battle against metastatic breast cancer.
 

She is survived by her husband, Senior United States District Judge, E.
Richard Webber, a daughter, Erin Webber, an attorney in Denver, CO, her husband,
Brian Allensworth, and their son Grayson; Dr. Nicki Moore, Assistant Athletics
Director at the University of Oklahoma, her husband, Dr. Bill Moore, and their
son Ian; a brother, Joe Washle, and his wife, Dorothy, from Canyon Lake, CA; a
sister, Mary Ann O’Connell, from St. Louis, MO; a brother, Jim Washle, and his
wife, Judy, from Louisville, KY; a sister-in-law, Linda Skartvedt, from
Scottsdale, AZ; many nieces, nephews and friends.  

She graduated from
Stephens College and later earned a Lifetime Teaching Certificate from Northeast
Missouri State University, now Truman State University. She was a teacher in
Clark and Scotland County Schools before serving at Rockwood South Middle School
in Fenton, MO, where she retired in 2006.  She was an accomplished equestrian
all of her life.  She was an assistant for the Equine Assisted Therapy program
in St. Louis as long as her health permitted.  She was a volunteer teacher at
Children’s Hospital and served as a tutor with the Lindbergh School District
following retirement.  She taught Sunday School at the First Presbyterian
Church, Memphis, Missouri for many years and served as a Deacon at the
Southminster Presbyterian Church where she was a faithful member for thirteen
years.  She was a fierce University of Missouri Tigers fan and a strong
supporter of the University of Missouri.

She is preceded in death by her
father, mother, brother-in-law, Joe O’Connell, a niece, Elizabeth Remein, and an
infant granddaughter, Maggie Lynn Moore.

Services will be as follows:
 Visitation at Southminster Presbyterian Church, located at 10126 E. Watson
Road, St. Louis, MO 63126 on Wednesday, August 19, from 5-7 p.m.  Memorial
Service at Southminster Presbyterian Church on Thursday, August 20 at 11 a.m.
 Memorial Service at Payne Funeral Chapel in Memphis, MO on Friday, August 21,
at 7 p.m., followed by visitation until 9 p.m.
