John Richard Emerson, age 52, of Heartland Community Bethel, Missouri, died Friday, July 31, 2009, in St. Louis, Missouri.
He was born July 7, 1957, at St. Joseph, Missouri the son of James Kenneth and Jo Ann Orr Emerson.
On July 27, 1996, at Muskegon, Michigan he was united in marriage to Audrey Joy VanSpronsen.
Surviving are his wife Audrey Joy Emerson of Heartland, his parents, James and Jo Ann Emerson of Olathe, Kansas, two children, David John Emerson and Danielle Joy Emerson of Heartland, two brothers, Tim Emerson and wife Dorinda of Shawnee Mission, Kansas, Michael Emerson of Kansas City, Missouri, two sisters, Laurie Sharpe and husband Reverend Charles of Heartland, Mari Schieber and husband Paul of Overland Park, Kansas, and several nieces and nephews.
John received his education in Overland Park, Kansas where he graduated from Shawnee Mission South High School.
John and his family have resided at Heartland Community north of Bethel, Missouri since 1996, where he was construction manager of all building development. Prior to 1996 John was engaged in construction in the Kansas City area.
John was an extremely loyal and dedicated man in the ministry at Heartland. He was sound man for the church and involved in the fireworks display on July 4th. John lived for his family and was a good and loving father and husband.
Funeral services were held 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 4, 2009, at Heartland Community Church. Reverend Charles Sharpe officiated the services. Burial was in the Heartland Cemetery. Casket bearers were Jared Nickerson, Jared McCoy, Skip Stevens, Dwayne Marquette, Sam Shewmaker, Arron Fredrickson and David Emerson.
