J. Orr Ledbetter, age 92, of LaBelle, Missouri, died Tuesday, July 7, 2009, at the LaBelle Manor Care Center in LaBelle, Missouri.
He was born in Lewis County, Missouri, on September 10, 1916, the son of James Albert and Elsie Burle Spidle Ledbetter.
He was united in marriage to Delora Rose Fountain and she preceded him in death on August 29, 2002.
Surviving are two children, Janeen Bradley of LaBelle, Missouri, Larry Ledbetter and wife Donna of LaBelle, Missouri, six grandchildren, Tammy Parrish, Ricky Ledbetter, Cindy Shehadeh, Billy Ledbetter, Joseph Holman and wife Krista, Lorin Bradley and fiancé Derek Sayres and several great grandchildren.
Mr. Ledbetter was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson, Michael Bradley, one great grandchild Chase Holman, and one sister Helen Myers.
Mr. Ledbetter received his education in LaBelle graduating from LaBelle High School. He lived north of LaBelle for several years where he operated a dairy farm. For several years he was employed at Gardner Denver in Quincy, Illinois. He enjoyed the St. Louis Cardinals and spending time with his family.
Graveside services were held 11 a.m. on Friday, July 10, 2009, at the LaBelle Cemetery. Pastor Joe Jorgenson officiated the services.
Visitation was from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Friday, July 10, 2009, at the Coder Funeral Chapel in LaBelle, Missouri.
Casket bearers were Wade Goodson, Rick Goodson, Derek Sayres, Steve Scoggin, Scott Hoffman and James Fifer.
Memorials may be made to the LaBelle Manor Care Center and may be left at or mailed to Coder Funeral Chapel, P.O. Box 151, LaBelle, Missouri, 63447.
