and a celebration of the life of Katie Deette Kerr, age 23, of White Bluff,
Tennessee, was conducted on Saturday, May 9, 2009, at 2 pm, at the First
Baptist Church of Dickson, with Dr. Jim Chatham officiating.
Katie died suddenly
May 6, 2009 as the result of an automobile accident in Davidson County. She was
born in Davidson County, the daughter of Lee Eric and Laurie Ellen Lerch Kerr.
Katie was a graduate of Dickson County Senior High School and was a 5th
year senior at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, majoring in English
literature, and minoring in international studies, with an emphasis in Spanish.
She was a vibrant young treasure to her family. She was a member of the First
Baptist Church in Dickson, Tennessee.
Katie is survived
by her parents, Eric and Laurie Kerr of White Bluff, TN; her brothers, Matthew
Kerr of Silverhill, AL; and Scott Kerr of White Bluff, TN; her grandparents,
Earl E. Lerch of White Bluff, and the late Bernice V. Lerch; Delores and Gil Sims
of Benton, AR; and the late William L. Kerr; aunts and uncles, Dan and Sherri
Lerch of White Bluff; Martin Lerch of Kempner, TX; Terri and Gene Cohagan of
Kahoka, MO; John Kerr of San Jacinto, CA; Scott Kerr of Burlington, IA; Ken and
Chris Lobberecht of Ft. Madison, IA; Mark and Michelle Lobberecht of
Burlington; and many cousins and friends.
Her place of rest
was in the Chapel of Prayer Mausoleum at Dickson County Memorial Gardens.
