Lane closures expected Saturday,
May 9 for race

HANNIBAL – Next Saturday, May 9 between 7 a.m. and 12 noon, motorists
traveling through West Quincy may experience lane closures along MO 24 during
the annual Bridge the Gap 5K/10K/Half Marathon race. Working cooperatively,
MoDOT, the City of Quincy and race organizers will reduce MO 24 to one lane in
front of Ayerco on both east and west bound lanes. In addition, the median
crossover in front of Ayerco will be temporarily closed for the safety of
runners.

Motorists are not expected to be significantly inconvenienced during
this time. Organizers ask that those traveling along MO 24 and on both the
bridges across the Mississippi River slow down during the race, which begins at
9 a.m. Traffic control will be removed as soon as all runners, walkers and
volunteers are off the bridge.

For more information about the race, call 217-222-0958.
