Lady Eagles Smother Putnam County JV

Knox County unleashed an 81 point barrage in the first round of the 80th Annual Brashear Tournament and cruised to an 81-30 win over seventh seeded Putnam County’s JV.
The second seeded Lady Eagles outscored Putnam County 32-6 in the first quarter and held a 50-14 halftime lead.
“We just wanted to concentrate on doing the things we do and working on our defense,” said Knox County coach John Weaver. “We got everybody involved.”
Ten different Lady Eagles scored led by Lorrie Peters with 17 points. Amanda Woods scored 16 points and Tessa Ramer was in double figures with 14 points.
Knox County scored 29 field goals while limiting Putnam County to seven made field goals defensively. The Lady Eagles (11-9) went 11-18 from the charity stripe as a team. Katie Ryals led the Lady Midgets with 13 points.
Kathleen Hinkle was next in line with nine KCHS points. Myra Parrish and Becca Mallett scored seven points each.
Stacey Leckbee scored four points. Katie Ausmus scored three points. Hannah Dale and Kelsey Cahalan added two points each.
