Indians Double Milan Wildcats, Stay Perfect In TRC
The Clark County Indians scored early and often as they kept the Tri-Rivers Conference record perfect at home Friday night against the Milan Wildcats. The game was held at the Seyb Gym at the Clark County Middle School, as a tribute the to the 1988-89 squad that finished third in the state.
The Indians jumped out to a 14-0 lead early in the contest, on their way to a 24-8 first quarter lead. Five Indians scored in the quarter, led by Michael Brennan with nine points. Ethan Allen buried a pair of three-pointers, Javis Vineyard added five, and Bryan Plenge and Justin Oilar scored two.
The Indians spread the scoring around more in the second period, as seven Indians hit the scorebooks. Justin Alderton led the effort with a three-pointer and a free throw, Ethan Allen nailed another three-pointer, Michael Brennan, Justin Oilar and Dakota Armstrong and Ryan Whiston each had a single basket, and Lynn Williams had a free-throw. At the half, the Indians led by an impressive 40-17 score.
It didn’t get any better for the Wildcats in the second half, as the Indians unleashed another 24-point quarter. Michael Brennan added a dozen more points, Lynn Williams had four, Justin Oilar and Justin Alderton each had three and Byran Plenge added a pair of free throws. After three quarters, Clark County led 64-25.
The Indians cleared their bench in the final quarter, and managed only four points, all at the charity stripe. Justin Alderton and Lynn Williams each hit a pair of free throws, as the Indians doubled the Wildcats, 68-34.
Michael Brennan led the Indians with 23. Ethan Allen and Justin Alderton each had nine, and Justin Oilar and Lynn Williams each added seven. Javis Vineyard had five, Bryan Plenge had four, and Dakota Armstrong and Ryan Whiston finished with a single basket each.
