Jesse Howard Shrouf, 22, of Hurdland, Missouri, died Wednesday, January 14, 2009, in an automobile accident near Edina, Missouri.
Jesse was born on December 28, 1986, the son of Gary Dean Sr. and Lisa Lanae Slaughter Shrouf.
Jesse lived in Hurdland, Missouri his entire life and was a member of the Hurdland Baptist Church. He attended the Knox County Schools and graduated in the Class of 2005. Jesse had worked for the past year at Cardwell Lumber. Jesse enjoyed canoeing, riding 4-wheelers, boating, his dog “Bella” but most of all he loved spending time with his son, family and friends.
Jesse is survived by his parents, Gary and Lisa Shrouf of Hurdland, Missouri; his fiancé, Katrina Kelsey and their son, Gavyn Wyatt of Hurdland, Missouri; grandmothers, LaVina Sellman of Benson, Minnesota and Opal Shrouf of Clyde, Kansas; great grandmother, Dorothy Atchison of Benson, Minnesota; three brothers, Gary Shrouf Jr. of Kirksville, Missouri, Roger Shrouf of Kirksville, Missouri and Cole Shrouf of Hurdland, Missouri; several aunts and uncles, Jason Slaughter of Benson, Minnesota, Sara and her husband Don Williams of Kirksville, Missouri, Tom and his wife Carol Shrouf of Novinger, Missouri, Jackie and his wife Raella Shrouf of Meadville, Missouri, David Shrouf of Kirksville, Missouri and Kristy and her husband Ron Robinson of LaPlata, Missouri; and a host of friends.
Jesse was preceded in death by his grand fathers, Jack Shrouf and Leonard Slaughter; brother, Billy Shrouf in 2003; and an uncle Jamie Slaughter in 2008.
Funeral services were Monday, January 19, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at the Edina Assembly of God Church in Edina, Missouri.
Burial was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, at Hurdland, Missouri.
Pastor Robert Stephens officiated and Casket Bearers were Adam Heller, Tom West, Nick Valdez, Dusty Stephens, Travis Hettinger, Brent Holdren, Chris Goodwin, and Shawn McKenzie.
