Thomas Lee Mitchell
Thomas Lee Mitchell, age 69, of Roseville, IL, passed away Monday, December 15, 2008, at 7:45 a.m. at Roseville Country Manor where he had been a patient the past week.
He was born November 6, 1939, in Kahoka, MO, the son of Howard and Lucille Anders Mitchell.
He married Cheryl Kerr in December of 1963 and to this union three children, Shawn, Troy and Jodi, were born. They divorced in February of 1980. He later married Trudy Tupper on May 4, 1985.
Survivors include his wife, Trudy Mitchell, of Roseville, IL; two sons, Shawn (Kathy) Mitchell of Belvidere, IL, and Troy (Robyn) Mitchell of Wapello, IA; a daughter, Jodi (Joey) Bowman of Clinton, IA; one step-son, Rob (Diane) Tupper of Broken Arrow, OK; a step-daughter, Lisa (Mike) Stevenson of Waupun, WI; ten grandchildren; eleven step-grandchildren; three sisters, Mary Bayne of Burlington, IA, Karen (Dan) Hobbs of Kahoka, MO, and Linda (David) Johnson of New London, IA; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Tom graduated from Kahoka High School in 1957. He was a member of the Burlington National Guard until May of 1981. He worked for IRC for eleven years in Burlington and JI Case for 19 years, retiring in July 1992. He was a UAW Local 807 retiree. He was a member of the Roseville United Methodist Church.
Memorial services were held Saturday, December 20, 2008, at 1:00 p.m. at the Roseville Methodist Church with family receiving friends for three hours prior to service. Corman Memorial Home, Roseville, IL, was in charge of arrangements.
