Glenn Dee Jones, Sr., age 76, of Quincy, Illinois, died Saturday, November 22, 2008, at Sunset Home in Quincy, Illinois.
He was born at Macon, Missouri, October 4, 1932, the son of Simmie and Myrtle Mae Nelson Jones, Sr.
On June 18, 1970, at Hannibal, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Ella Mae Buford and she preceded him in death on October 16, 2002.
Glenn was also preceded in death by his son, David R. Jones, three brothers, Harlan in infancy, Simmie and Donnie Jones, and one sister Cecil Ellison.
Surviving are three children Glenn D. Jones Jr. and wife Carol of Australia, Vicki Jo and Nancy Carol, three step children, Bobby Lee Brookhart, Donna Jo Keith and Banner Ray Keith all of Quincy, Illinois, one daughter-in-law, Judi Brookhart of Quincy, Illinois, eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Glenn graduated from Durham High School. He was a car salesman for Pruitt Lincoln Mercury in Quincy, Illinois for twenty years and was also a truck driver in the Quincy area for fifteen years. He enjoyed fishing, playing on a dart league, and shooting pool.
Funeral services were held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri. Reverend Mike Wilson officiated the services. Burial was in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery Northeast of Edina, Missouri.
Visitation was after 9 a.m. Tuesday, November 25, 2008, till time of services at 10:30 a.m. at Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri.
